After our wonderful “The Perfect Storm Variety Show”, in The Concept Theater Company we are ready to jump right into our spring production Is There a Silver Lining? Theater Festival. This production features three short plays written by Cindy El, Luciana Valero, and Pablo Cadena. All three playwrights identify as POC and are dedicated to portray the hardships of the current world and the impact that it has on their communities, through fascinating and relevant stories.

What are the limits of love in the face of violence? Cindy El writes a devastating story of a heartbroken mother that relives the memories of her deceased daughter, victim of an unforgivable tragedy.
Letters of Solitude, by Luciana Valero
How do you let go and move on after the loss of a loved one? The protagonist of this breathtaking story writes hopeless letters to the person that they have loved for years, and who is no longer in this world. Their love, although unbreakable, starts to take a toll on the heart of the writer. Just when things seem to be simply helpless, the presence of Solitude stops by to make things just a little harder. Luciana Valero portrays a beautiful story that questions love, loss, and what is left behind after losing the love of your life.
Backfire, by Pablo Cadena
What would happen if a deadly virus suddenly and forever changed the world as we know it? How do we take care of the people we love? Is there even any room to fall in love again? Pablo Cadena takes us into a daunting story of love in a time where what we most need is empathy, but what we often get is the complete opposite of it. Is it too late to stop the seemingly inevitable tragedy? Coincidence or not, our protagonists have to witness their world fall apart while they fight to keep their love- and themselves, alive.
